Conditions + Treatments
After several years of suffering from AVN, I had come to a point to where I could no longer work as a police officer. Most of the doctors in the area kept telling me I was too young for a hip replacement, and they wanted me to wait due to I would just have that one replaced in a few years.
My dad was suffering with the same problem with his hip and Dr. Flanagan had replaced his a year prior. I made the appointment to see Dr. Flanagan, and I have to say it was the best decision in my life. His staff was beyond great and Amy made me feel we had known each other for years.
After looking at my x-rays, the first question was "why have you waited so long??" Dr. Flanagan explained everything and answered any questions I had putting me at ease. Two months later, I had the surgery and it wasn't near as bad as I had imagined.
Once I finished the first couple of weeks of rehab, there was hardly any pain. By week 4, I returned to spinning class, and by week 8, I returned to work. It has been a little more than 2 years now and I can't even tell I had a hip replacement. During these 2 years, I completed the Insanity workout and returned to weight lifting and spinning without any problems.
Thank you to Dr. Flanagan and his whole staff!
