Knee Replacement (Total)
Because I was only around 50 years of age when the discomfort in my knee began, I had been delaying a total knee replacement surgery for almost 20 years.
My previous orthopaedic surgeon in New York had helped to extend the life of my knees by a series of injections. Once I moved to Alabama, I then continued my care at Andrews Sports Medicine.
A few years have passed since Dr. James Flanagan performed joint replacement surgery on both my knees. It was the best thing that I could have done for myself.
I remember when going to my initial follow-up appointment after the first knee replacement surgery, I could walk into the office without the use of a cane or walker. It was hard to believe how quickly each knee healed after each surgery. In addition, my incisions have healed so well that you can hardly see them.
I really appreciate all that Dr. James Flanagan and his staff did for me. I had a great experience. As a golfer, I have been able to enjoy playing the beautiful courses in Birmingham weekly without any discomfort.
