We want to take a minute to tell Dr. Kathleen McKeon at Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center how grateful we are to you for providing our daughter state-of-the-art care.
Rileigh is 15 year-old sophomore in high school and is an athlete. Following a complex finger injury in softball in October 2017, Rileigh underwent an unsuccessful surgical procedure and was referred to numerous professionals and specialists throughout Mississippi before finally being referred to Andrews Sports Medicine Center through the UWA sports medicine program in late December.
It was at Andrews Sport Medicine that we met Dr. McKeon, who assessed Rileigh’s injury and was able to quickly diagnose the problem. Dr. McKeon was very knowledgeable about needed intervention and was able to explain why previous interventions were not successful. Even though the injury required an intricate procedure and intense follow-up therapy for an extended period of time, Rileigh is now on the road to recovery.
One thing that really stood out to us was that Dr. McKeon never promised us a perfect outcome or a perfect finger, but she assured us that she could make Rileigh’s finger the best that it could be. She made it clear before doing the surgery that intense occupational therapy would be necessary for recovery.
Even though we live nearly three hours away, Dr. McKeon scheduled the follow-up therapy in our home community and she personally communicates with the therapist and answers questions by phone.
From the beginning, the staff at Andrews Sports Medicine and Dr. McKeon has made us feel like they are genuinely concerned with Rileigh’s outcome and they understand Rileigh’s desire to return to the ballfield as quickly as possible.
There is nothing more that we could have asked for from Dr. McKeon or Andrews Sports Medicine and we feel they have truly been an answer to prayers.
