Riley Quick, a native of Trussville, Alabama, and former standout at Hewitt-Trussville High School, is currently a starting pitcher for the University of Alabama baseball team. In February 2024, during his sophomore year, Riley sustained an elbow injury in his first start of the season against Manhattan College, where he delivered three hitless innings before experiencing discomfort and was removed the game.
This led to a diagnosis requiring UCL reconstruction, commonly known as Tommy John surgery, which was performed by Dr. Lyle Cain. After an extensive rehabilitation, Riley made a successful return to the mound in February 2025, contributing to Alabama's season-opening series victory against Bradley University. Riley's resilience and determination have been instrumental in his recovery and return to collegiate baseball.
