Conditions + Treatments
Due to sports related injuries, I have been having pain in both knees for 30 years. In 1988, Dr. Andrews replaced the ACL in my right knee.
As time passed, my left knee became very troublesome. Finally, it became painful to play golf, a sport I truly enjoy. After consulting with Dr. Emblom, we decided to proceed with a total left knee replacement.
On December 7, 2015, I had the left total knee replacement. Within five weeks I was chipping and putting, and by week six I was hitting all my clubs on the range. With the approval of my physical therapist, I actually played nine holes on Saturday, January 30, and eighteen holes on Sunday, January 31, 2016. Less than eight full weeks after surgery I was playing golf pain free.
Physical therapy is key to recovery, along with having an outstanding surgeon like Dr. Emblom. I used Maximum Physical Therapy in the Inverness area.
Throughout the process, Dr. Emblom and his staff addressed any issues or concerns, and made it very easy for me to stay in contact with them. I'd like to thank them all, and I am very impressed with where I am in my recovery in just eight short weeks.
