Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center has a decades-long partnership with the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Dr. Lyle Cain has served as the Alabama Crimson Tide's team orthopaedic surgeon for the last 25 years, while Dr. Norman Waldrop has served as a Crimson Tide team physician and orthopaedic foot & ankle consultant since 2012.
Dr. James Andrews has been associated with the Alabama Crimson Tide for many years, providing medical coverage and consulting services. Dr. Andrews has had a long-standing relationship with the program, particularly through his work with the Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center and his role with the American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI).
A graduate of the University of Alabama, Dr. Lyle Cain served as a team physician for the Alabama Crimson Tide during the 1999 football season when he was a fellow with Dr. James Andrews at Andrews Sports Medicine. In 2000, Dr. Cain was designated as a Crimson Tide team physician.
Upon joining Andrews Sports Medicine in 2012, Dr. Norman Waldrop was named as a Crimson Tide team physician and orthopaedic foot & ankle consultant.
In addition, Dr. Kathleen E. McKeon and Dr. Benton A. Emblom serve as Alabama Tide team consultants.
