Dr. James Andrews, the renowned orthopedic surgeon, began providing medical coverage for the Auburn Tigers in the early 1990s. He has long been associated with Auburn University as a consulting team physician, leveraging his expertise in sports medicine to assist their athletic programs. Dr. Andrews is also well-known for his work with athletes from various professional and collegiate teams across the country.

Dr. Benton Emblom began providing medical coverage for the Auburn Tigers on August 31, 2024, when he officially assumed the role of head orthopedic surgeon for Auburn University athletics. He succeeded Dr. James Andrews, who retired in December 2023 after decades of service.

In addition, Dr. Charles Pitts, Jr. serves as an Auburn Tigers team physician and orthopaedic foot & ankle consultant.
