Christopher M. Beaumont, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand, wrist & upper extremity surgery. He treats patients out of the Birmingham clinic location.
Dr. Beaumont treats patients with disorders, instability, injuries and arthritis of the hand, wrist, forearm and upper extremity. He is experienced in the latest and most up-to-date techniques regarding these complex and intricate parts of the body.
Dr. Beaumont commonly treats fractures of the hand, wrist and forearm, as well as dislocations and lacerations involving tendons and nerves, ligament injuries, arthritis of the upper extremity, trigger finger, tendonitis, Dupuytrens contracture, and ganglion cysts. He also routinely treats peripheral nerve injuries, lacerations and compressive neuropathies such as carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel and radial tunnel syndromes.
Dr. Beaumont earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Georgia. After graduation, he earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, where he was a member of the Gold Humanism Honors Society. He went on to complete an internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at UAB Hospital, where he was in the same residency class as Charles C. Pitts, Jr., MD, also an orthopaedic surgeon at Andrews Sports Medicine. Dr. Beaumont completed a hand and upper extremity fellowship at Florida Orthopaedic Institute in Tampa, Florida, just prior to joining Andrews Sports Medicine.
Dr. Beaumont was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He met his wife, Morgan, while attending the University of Louisville School of Medicine. The Beaumont's reside in Homewood, where they are raising their two young sons, Maxwell and Charlie.
