Surgical Scheduler

Our practice is currently seeking candidates for a Surgical Scheduler position. This position will be based at our Birmingham and Hoover 150 clinics. Our ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of clinical/medical experience, preferably in a sports medicine/orthopedic office. This staff member will work in a fast-paced, clinical environment along with the hospital staff and administration of Ascension St. Vincent’s Birmingham.

This staff member will be responsible for managing an efficient, patient-oriented clinical environment. This individual will interview surgical patients, schedule surgeries at the hospital, and coordinate with patient and other physician offices on appropriate medical clearances for surgery as needed.

Certified Medical Assistant

Our office is looking for a “rock star” medical assistant in our non-surgical physician department. Our ideal candidate would have some clinical experience, preferably in orthopeadics. This staff member will assist with patient care in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include scheduling/pre-certing tests, drawing up injections, answering medically related questions from incoming patients, coaches and other physicians. In addition, they will assist our surgeon with in-office procedures including ultrasound and fitting DME. The hours are Monday-Friday.

Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC)

Our office is currently seeking candidates for an Athletic Trainer position. Ideal candidate will have 1+ years of clinical experience, preferably in a sports medicine/ orthopedic office. This athletic trainer will work in a fast-paced, clinical setting and will be the liaison between the patient, the doctor or their support staffs, and the schools they cover. Strong communication skills are a must as AT will constantly communicate with patients, clinicians and other physicians on a daily basis.

Patient Account Representative (PAR)

Our practice is seeking a Patient Account Representative (PAR) in our business office. This staff member is responsible for the coordination of accurate patient and insurance billing and follow-up for timely recovery of surgical and clinical charges for patient services rendered. This includes processing remit denials, add referring doctors and resubmitting claims to Medicaid, filing claims to secondary insurance, keying claims for secondaries to Medicaid and BCBS, work reports (following up on status of claims, calling in corrections to Medicare) take credit card payments, assist clinical staff by answering questions about insurance companies to guarantee proper payment for our services, assist patients with insurance questions, key corrections into system and other duties as assigned.

Marketing & PR Internship

Our practice has two (2) Marketing & PR internships available for the 2025 Summer (May-August) and 2025 Fall (August-December) semesters. We are currently accepting resumes for undergraduate and graduate students interesting in gaining experience in a fast-paced, high-volume sports medicine & orthopaedic practice.

    Student Observation Program

    PLEASE NOTE: There is a very high demand for this program. We do our best to accommodate as many qualified applicants as possible. 

    Our practice routinely provides college students (and select high school students in health-related classes) who are interested in sports medicine & orthopaedics the opportunity to observe various departments within our organization. This program provides students with insight on the day-to-day activities of a high-volume sports medicine & orthopaedic practice.

    Step #1: If you would like to be considered, the first step is to complete our online student observation request form. CLICK HERE to submit your online Student Observation request form.

    Step #2: If you are accepted to participate in the Student Observation Program (SOP), you will be contacted by phone. At that point, you will be instructed to download, print and complete the below SOP registration packet. You will need to bring the entire completed and signed registration packet with you on your assigned observation day.
